First, a quick introduction. Google Classroom is a great new tool that allows us to post all of our assignments online in one shared space. Students are then able to check the assignment details at any point in time from anywhere they can have internet access. Some assignments are submitted online through the Classroom while others are physically submitted at school. Regardless of how the assignment is submitted…it will be posted on the class website if it involves homework.
Second, some details. Google Classroom is only accessible for those with a “Google for Education” account. Meaning that your personal Google account will not permit access. Your child’s “______________[email protected]" account has full access. If you would like so see some specifics on a particular assignment, have your child log in and you will be able to view everything that we are doing.
Logging In
1. In your web browser navigate to classroom.google.com. If no one is currently logged in with a Google account the webpage will look like this. Just have your child log in with their school email and password.
(To find your child's email address, it will be first name, first initial, last initial and then [email protected], so for example Sam Greg Jones would be [email protected])

2. Next you should be shown a page like this. This is our “Classroom Homepage” that shows all of the classes a student has added. From here you can select the class you like.
3. This is the homepage of a specific class. In this case it is Social Studies. From here you can scroll down and see all the different assignments we have worked on. Simply clicking on an assignment will provide more details about it.
IF YOU ARE HAVING TROUBLE:
A problem arises when you are currently logged into Google with your own account. Classroom will not let you in. To remedy this problem look to the left hand side of the screen and look who is currently logged in. (see picture below) Then click sign-out and log into the student’s school e-mail.
